Important information for Incorporated Societies
All incorporated societies must re‑register under the Incorporated Societies Act 2022 by 5 April 2026 (Easter Sunday).
If a society does not re‑register by this date, it will no longer be able to operate as an incorporated society.
If you’re unsure of your status, this is a good time to check the Companies/Societies Register.
What this means for your grant or funding request with Foundation North
Our Incorporated Society is re‑registered under the 2022 Act
Ka pai! Many organisations in our funding database have already completed re‑registration.
If your organisation is re‑registered, you don’t need to do anything further — your funding requests and any grant payments can continue as normal.
Our Incorporated Society is still operating under the 1908 Act
If your organisation has not yet re‑registered:
- we must pause any funding requests currently in the pipeline, and
- we cannot release grant payments
…until we receive confirmation of your re‑registration under the 2022 Act.
Once we have that confirmation, we can resume processing your request or releasing your grant.
