KA TŪ MĀIA – a Ngahere Talks podcast series powered by Foundation North

Together with Ngahere Talks, we are stoked to launch Ka Tū Māia, a podcast series to spark the inspiration of those who want to create a better future.

Featuring some of South Auckland's most innovative community change-makers, Ka Tū Māia (Stand Brave) is all about truthful and equitable storytelling. Hosted by Ngahere Communities Founder and CEO, Manawa Udy, a range of courageous innovators generously share the highs and lows, the passion and the persistence, the mighty wins and the epic fails during their own entrepreneurial journeys.

Over four episodes on the Ngahere Talks platform, it’s real and raw kōrero that we hope will not only ignite ideas in the curious, but also remove the limitations of preconceived pathways.

Ka Tū Māia! Be inspired and feel equipped to take the next step in your purpose-driven journey.

Supporting innovation in South Auckland

South Auckland’s many diverse, ever-evolving geographic and demographic communities possess strong creative, cultural, and social capital, many of whom seek to ‘flip the narrative’ that has been imposed by wider society and the media.

Following a strategic shift in 2018, Foundation North recognised that to fund innovation for impact, required flexible approaches that support charitable projects led by social and community change agents.

The South Auckland Community Innovation Fund was established and run by Foundation North between 2019-2021. The intent was to enable innovation to deliver intergenerational benefit and disrupt persistent inequalities in South Auckland. Foundation North continues to support community innovation approaches that increase equity in South Auckland and across our rohe.
