Partnering to enhance the wellbeing of Pacific people living with disability
Back in April, we were excited to share news of a new partnership to devolve funding to Le Va, a Pacific-for-Pacific organisation, for the creation of a new fund - and today their 'Inasi Fund is officially open.
Speaking on their social media, Le Va announced, "The ‘Inasi Fund is about honouring our Pasifika tradition of collective sharing. ‘Inasi aims to invest in community-led solutions that reduce stigma and discrimination around disability, to create communities of care and empower Pasifika people with disabilities to have a voice… to lead."
With Le Va's strong relationships within the Pacific Disability community, the Foundation recognises it can accelerate its efforts to support Pacific peoples living with disability through an intermediary partnership approach with Le Va. We are excited to be on this journey with Le Va at the helm, and they have this message for anyone interested in applying for the 'Inasi Fund:
"If you're based in Auckland or Northland and have an innovative idea, project, or initiative that can make a difference for Pasifika people with disabilities, this could be for you! Apply! You could receive up to $10,000 or even more, to support your project. But don't wait too long! Applications close Wednesday, 26 August 2025."
