Opportunity for Pacific Youth to participate in funding decisions for their communities

24 May 2021   /   News & reports

Foundation North is partnering with Ministry of Youth Development to create a $200,000 fund, to be distributed by Pacific youth for the benefit of their peers and communities. This initiative builds from the insights and learning of the Foundation’s first participatory grant initiative, called the Future Makers Fund.

Following the insights and learnings from the Pacific Future Makers initiative, Foundation North is opening expressions of interest to Pacific youth in South Auckland.

“This is a great opportunity for our South Auckland young people to be at the front of decision making process of granting initiatives in their communities,” said Foundation North Engagement Lead Helen Clarke.

“It allows funding to be designed and distributed by Pacific young people for Pacific initiatives in South Auckland”.

We are looking for up to 12 Pacific youth aged 18-28 years, who are proud of South Auckland, thrive in its diversity and culture, and keen to amplify its strengths and explore hidden gems.

“We would like to hear from you so tell us about yourself: who you are and what you love about South Auckland. Why do you want to participate in this project and what you can bring to the panel.”
