Continuing our partnership with Rule Foundation

Over the last twelve months, we have been partnering with Rule Foundation to make more of our funding available to more rainbow organisations in our rohe. 

Since December 2024, Rule Foundation has distributed 40 grants, of between $500 and $70,000, through this intermediary arrangement, to rainbow and takatāpui kaupapa in Tāmaki Makaurau and Te Tai Tokerau.

We are therefore excited by the continuation of this partnership, which will see $750,000 of Foundation North funding made available each year over the next two years. 

The Rule Foundation's Foundation North fund (FNxRF) means Rainbow organisations and/or rainbow-specific applications looking to apply for a Quick Response Grant (QRG) or a Community Grant (CG) up to $70,000 apply directly to the Rule Foundation instead of to Foundation North.

Funding round dates

• Applications for smaller projects under $10,000
  • Round 1 closes: 5pm Friday 28 Nov 2025
  • Round 2 closes: 5pm Friday 27 February 2026
  • Round 3 closes: 5pm Friday 5 June 2026
  • Round 4 closes: 5pm Closing Friday 28 August 2026
• Applications for larger projects up to $70,000
  • 5pm Friday 27 February 2026
