Pou Ārahi appointment

Anei te panui mo nga kaimahi hou,

I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Aroha Harris as the Foundation North Pou Ārahi. 

Aroha was born on the shores of the Kaipara and is of Ngāti Whātua descent.  

She is honoured to have raised one son and many whangai children and is an especially proud grandmother of seven mokopuna.

Passionate about working to advance Māori mana motuhake self-determination, Aroha brings over 25 years of public and not-for profit sector experience. 

Drawing on her various roles with Te Puni Kōkiri, Ministry of Social Development, Ministry of Health and Royal NZ Plunket, as well as her whakapapa and knowledge of Te Reo Māori me ōna tikanaga, Aroha will be an invaluable addition to our Leadership Group.

We look forward to formally welcoming Aroha to Foundation North with a pōwhiri on 24 October and to the contribution she will make to the vision of Te Kaitiaki Pūtea ō Tamaki ō Tai Tokerau.
