New Grants Strategy Coming

From 1 April 2018 Foundation North will have a new grants strategy. Here you will find an outline of the key dates in this process. Keep checking back on our website for updates.

From 1 April 2018

Foundation North will have a new grants strategy which is designed to be more flexible and responsive to your needs. We want to make it easier for you to get the support you need from us.

The Foundation’s existing grants framework will change in the following ways: 

  • No closing dates – put in your applications when you’re ready*
  • We are moving towards a new set of priorities and outcomes to guide our grantmaking, and away from the People, Places & Participation categorisation.

We will support you through the process of change.

  • We are still finalising details but we will provide full information in late January 2018 – check on our website

Already applied for funding in 2017?

Your application will be assessed and processed in the normal way.

Currently working on an application for funding?

If you normally receive funding from us each year
We recommend you make your 2018 application at around the same time as you put in your application for 2017.  This will help ensure that if your 2018 grant is approved, you will get your funding at around the same time as you did this year.

If you are a new applicant
If you have queries we recommend that you talk to us. Make a note to check back on our website in late January 2018 for more information. This will help you align your project with the priorities and outcomes in our new grants strategy.

Quick Response grants will continue to be available (with a new ceiling of $25,000). The 6 to 8-week response timeframe is unchanged.

*Between 9 Feb & 5 Mar we will be unable to receive applications in the current portal. Please bear with us and talk to staff if you have a query.

5 March 2018

NEW GRANTEE HUB

From 5 March 2018, all applications will be submitted and processed in a new online hub on our website (powered by Fluxx – the same system in use by DIA). We will provide details on this nearer the time.

All grants, payments, reports and communications with grantees will be handled within the new hub. Current and previous grants records and documentation will automatically transfer from the existing system to the new hub.
